The Bukit Lawang Trust is a charitable Trust that works in communities that have been affected by natural disaster. The Trust was established in response to a flood that hit the small village of Bukit Lawang in November 2003, wiping out the whole of the village and killing 300 people.
The Trust provided immediate aid, and set up a health clinic in the village. The Trust now helps other villages like Bukit Lawang throughout Indonesia that have been affected by natural disaster such as the tsunami and earthquakes by helping the communities to rehabilitate through water, health and education projects. 100% of funds raised go directly to our projects.
In 2010 the Trustees are planning to visit remote villages around Padang that have not been reached by the aid effort since the earthquake. If you can - any donation - no matter how small can help us buy rice and supplies for these people.
